THE OPPORTUNITY:
Within the Group, an opportunity has arisen for an accountant administrator/bookkeeper role suited for a high-performance-oriented individual. This position demands strategic thinking, financial acumen, and commercial insight, reporting directly to the Financial Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Corporate Finance, Budgeting, and Reporting:
- Deliver professional financial services to facilitate efficient management and safeguarding of the Group’s financial interests.
- Produce monthly Finance Reports, Interim and Annual Audited Financial Statements for the Group and its subsidiaries.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity in financial statements, adhering to relevant accounting standards and legislative requirements.
- Oversee tax procedures and compliance, meeting deadlines and ensuring satisfactory completion of associated documents.
- Contribute to maintaining reliable financial performance indicators and benchmarks.
- Meet financial year end deadlines and ensure satisfactory completion of working papers for external auditors.
- Ensure accuracy and error-free submission of all financial figures leaving the finance department.
Governance:
- Support and adhere to Group Policies and Procedures, including Business Ethics and relevant laws.
- Uphold high-quality reporting standards to Financial Management.
- Adhere to defined occupational health and safety policies and procedures.
Leadership and Performance Management:
- Lead and manage Finance staff, conducting regular performance reviews, interviews, counseling, and training.
- Ensure optimal resource utilization to achieve Group’s Strategic Goals.
POSITION / PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Skills:
- Proficiency in General Financial Management.
- Ability to draft formal financial statements and produce monthly management accounts.
- Skilled in cash flow management and forecasting, creditors and debtors’ management, fixed asset registers maintenance, cash book processing and reconciliation, stock management, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Experience with Syspro or similar accounting software, along with exceptional Excel skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Effective negotiation and cooperation skills.
- Proficient in problem-solving, planning, and task prioritization.
- Ability to provide detailed written reports and deal with sensitive issues independently.
Knowledge:
- Familiarity with applicable legislative and regulatory frameworks, organizational structures, Group and Finance Policies and Procedures, principles of business administration, financial accounting, financial planning and budgeting, costing methodologies, managing performance information framework, financial management concepts, planning tools and techniques, capital investment appraisals, IFRS, and Tax Legislation.
Desired Experience & Qualification:
- Postgraduate qualifications in management desirable for CFO roles.
- Minimum B-com Accounting with commercial experience.
- Extensive experience in financial management and control, payroll, and tax accounting.
- Auditing experience preferred.
