Admin – Secretarial Support

Introduction & Purpose

The role is responsible for providing secretarial and logistical support within the Office of the Director-General.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering secretarial support services for executive meetings.
  • Organizing logistical arrangements for executive meetings.
  • Coordinating ODG Unit meetings and planning sessions.
  • Managing the distribution of external Cabinet memos and Minister’s Cabinet briefing notes.
  • Providing administrative support.
  • Overseeing document and information management.

Competency Requirements

Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of government processes.
  • Expertise in organizing, planning, executing, and monitoring projects.
  • Familiarity with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Proficiency in secretariat support services.
  • Awareness of Minimum Information Security Standards (MISS).

Qualifications & Experience

  • A three-year National Diploma or Degree (NQF Level 6) in Office Management, Public Administration, Management, Business Management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2–3 years of experience in secretarial support services, administration, and records management.
