Job Description Summary

Join our Operations team at Furniture Home Office, a division of the Shoprite Group, Africa’s leading retailer. We’re seeking individuals with strong administrative skills and advanced proficiency in Excel to thrive in our dynamic furniture retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide general PA/Assistant support including managing daily calls, emails, letters, meeting arrangements, staff attendance register, and stationery orders.
  • Assist the Marketing team with overflow projects or marketing approvals.
  • Manage consumer competitions, winner announcements, letters, and branch notifications.
  • Generate weekly or monthly reports on stationery, marketing trackers, customer service, financial invoicing, and competitor activity.
  • Coordinate the submission of internal content to the Siyaringa platform.
  • Handle the capturing and submission of weekly interactive briefs to external parties to ensure online platform compatibility.
  • Manage all weekly and monthly supply chain invoices, capturing, payment processes, and resolution of related queries.
  • Oversee in-store Point of Sale management including order receipt, stock ordering, managing warehouse stock, and following through with supplier orders.
  • Liaise with internal departments and external agencies/suppliers as required.
  • Engage with relevant internal and in-country stakeholders as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 qualification is essential.
  • A diploma or higher certificate will be advantageous.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of working experience.
  • Retail experience is beneficial.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong English writing and reading skills; proficiency in other languages is a plus.
  • Above-average attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in financial administration.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and excellent time management.
  • Good telephone and etiquette skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including graphs and pivot tables, along with proficiency in Word and PowerPoint.
  • Self-motivated and capable of managing all duties and responsibilities.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive and an initiator.
