Job Opening:
A reputable company in Partown is actively seeking an experienced Accountant (Creditors) to join their team.
Responsibilities:
- Verify supplier invoices and payments for both local and foreign suppliers.
- Assist in completing the new supplier application checklist and verifying new suppliers according to company SOP.
- Input new suppliers into Pastel and load payments into the banking system.
- Ensure supplier invoices are properly authorized prior to payment.
- Review expenses against budgets and highlight any out-of-budget expenses for additional approvals.
- Process supplier invoices into the ledgers (Pastel) in alignment with budget allocations.
- Prepare payment packs for review by the Financial Manager (FM) and distribute remittance advice and Proof of Payment (POP) to internal and external parties.
- File invoices and payments and resolve supplier queries.
- Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations and assist with annual budget preparation.
- Provide inputs for the weekly cash-flow forecast for expenses and assist in auditing sales representative expense claims.
- Assist in processing intercompany recharge journals and update entity bank balances daily while compiling daily bank reconciliations.
- Contribute to the month-end reporting process, including drafting journals, preparing management packs, and analyzing variances between budget and actuals.
- Assist with external audit queries, compile supporting data for BBBEE verification, and process goods received notes (GRVs) onto Pastel for stock received while verifying information accuracy.
- Assist in implementing, maintaining, and improving financial controls, policies, procedures, and systems as needed.
- Handle company secretarial work across various group companies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Commerce in Finance or Accounting.
- Proficiency in Advanced Excel and Pastel.
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook).
- Valid driver’s license.
Compensation:
- Competitive package ranging from R35 000-00 to R40 000-00 CTC.
