Job Description
We are currently seeking a Driver based in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Responsibilities:
- Drive safely and adhere to traffic laws while respecting the rights of other drivers.
- Maintain vehicle standards and follow company equipment and vehicle procedures.
- Safely and promptly transport items and documents to stores and clients.
- Drive responsibly to project a professional attitude and comply with safety regulations.
- Conduct vehicle audits using a checklist before starting your shift.
Requirements:
- Completed Grade 12.
- Valid Code B driver’s license.
- Strong organizational skills with an emphasis on accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Performance Areas
- Transport staff to and from clinics and the office.
- Transport staff to and from the office to events held on weekends and public holidays.
- Assist with setting up and packing away equipment used at events.
- Collect and deliver equipment, documentation, etc., as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of client demographics for those using the transport service.
- Keep records of kilometers traveled and manage site visits via a logbook.
- Report any vehicle accidents or damage immediately.
- Fuel the vehicle and ensure it is always clean.
- Ensure the vehicle is regularly serviced and well-maintained (e.g., tires, brake pads) and meets general safety requirements.
- Prepare accident and incident reports as necessary.
- Comply with traffic regulations and practice defensive driving.
- Minimize complaints regarding vehicle operation.
- Provide other services as requested by management when not transporting people or items.
- Assist with photocopying and distributing documents.
- Assist with any ad hoc office duties.
- Assist in the collection and delivery of goods and materials.
